Halogen Heat Lamps for Screen Printing: Built for Speed, Built for the Shop
If you’re running a screen printing press, you already know the drill. You need heat that hits hard and fast—so inks dry and coatings cure without dragging your whole line down. That’s exactly why we build these halogen heat lamps. Not some generic space heater. These are purpose-built beasts, engineered to pack serious heat into a small footprint.
What’s under the hood
We lean on a 300mm quartz tube because it matches up cleanly with standard print stations and conveyor zones. And the power? It’s big—often 2500W—because screen printing demands a rapid temperature jump to keep pace with production. We typically run these at 400V, not 230V. Why? It delivers the same punch with lower current. Less current means less voltage drop across long wires, fewer losses, and less strain on your contactors and terminal blocks.
The design that keeps you running
Inside that quartz envelope, you’ve got a shortwave halogen element. Quartz is tough—it handles the shock of rapid on/off cycles without cracking, and it keeps output steady for thousands of hours. And the halogen cycle does its job, too. It keeps the filament stable, so you get repeatable heat. No sudden dips. No guesswork. Just consistent performance shift after shift. The connector of choice is R7s. That bi-pin setup slips into ceramic holders with no tools, locks in clean, and carries current reliably. If your line calls for something different, we can do SK15 and other terminals, but R7s is the go-to for quick, drop-in replacements.
How it feels on the press
On the floor, this lamp is all about momentum. UV and solvent-based inks dry fast, so the next print cycle starts without waiting. You can also use it to cure topcoats and adhesives on plastic and metal. Because the heat is concentrated, your heated zone can be smaller. That makes guarding simpler and clears up floor space. Now, there is one thing to keep in mind: heat density. A 2500W lamp in a 300mm tube throws off serious warmth. Make sure your reflector, airflow, and machine insulation are up to the task. Plan the heat path, wire it right, and you’ll get a lamp that runs steady, repeatable, and easy to keep up. No drama. Just production.
