If you’ve ever waited around for a heater to finally get up to temperature, you know how frustrating it is. That’s why we built these short wave infrared (SWIR) lamps. We wanted something that hits the markimmediately. By packing 1000W into a 400mm quartz tube, we’ve created a setup that gets your parts to the right temperature in seconds. Not minutes. Seconds.
Why “Short Wave” actually matters
Here’s the thing about short wave radiation: it doesn’t waste time heating up the air around your project. Instead, it dives straight into the material. It’s fast. Really fast. That’s a huge deal when you’re running a high-speed production line and every single second you shave off your cycle time adds up to more profit at the end of the day.
The guts of the lamp
We use a halogen cycle inside the tube. Without it, the tungsten filament would just evaporate and gunk up the glass, making the lamp dim over time. With it, the tube stays crystal clear and the power stays consistent. The quartz envelope is the real hero here—it takes the brutal internal heat without warping or cracking. Plus, we use R7s or similar spring-loaded connectors, so you can usually just pop these into your existing heater banks without any fuss.
Making it work in the real world
You can use these for all sorts of things—PET blowing, curing paint, or welding plastics. Because they’re 400mm long, you get a nice, wide heat footprint. This means you don’t have to worry about those annoying “cold spots” ruining your parts. But a word of caution: 1000W in such a small frame isintense. If your housing isn’t vented properly or your reflectors are slightly off, you’re risking a burnout at the lamp ends or a melted socket. And please, make sure your power supply is steady. A sudden voltage spike is the fastest way to snap a filament and start your day over from scratch.
