Built to last: coated quartz and tough connectors The quartz envelope has a special coating to shape the spectrum and keep the surface clean while it runs. Then there are the connectors—R7s or Sk15—industrial-grade ends that handle vibration and repeated heating and cooling. They carry high current safely and make swapping lamps on the shop floor quick and simple.
