Let’s Talk About Wall-Mounted Halogen Heaters
Ever stepped out of a steaming shower into a freezing bathroom? It’s the worst. That’s why we build these halogen heaters. Unlike those old-school heaters that try to warm up the entire room’s air—which takes forever—these units use shortwave infrared. Basically, they don’t mess around with the air; they beam the heat straight at you. We use quartz envelopes and tungsten filaments so the second you flip the switch, you actually feel it. Getting the power right Most of these run on your standard 230V mains. Depending on how big your bathroom is, we usually set them between 400W and 2000W. Here’s the thing: a higher wattage means a smaller unit can put out a ton of heat. But be careful. If you’re hooking up a few of these on one circuit, you might end up tripping your breaker. It’s worth double-checking your amp draw before you go all out. The bits and pieces We use R7s or SK15 connectors. Why? Because bulbs eventually burn out. We wanted something you could just pop out and replace without having to rip the whole housing off the wall. The quartz glass is there because it can handle the intense heat without melting, and it lets those infrared waves pass right through. We even add a special coating to some of them. It cuts down on that blinding glare, which is a lifesaver when you’re squinting in a small bathroom. Setting it up (and a few warnings) Since these hang on the wall, your floor stays clear. But since the heat is so intense, don’t just slap them up with any old screw. Make sure your bracket is solid for your specific wall type, or you might end up with warped paint or a weird discoloration mark. And a pro tip on placement: these heaters are directional. If you mount it too high, the heat just drifts away before it hits you, leaving you with a “cold spot.” You’ve got to find that sweet spot where the angle hits you just right. One last thing—these things gethot. Like, really hot. Keep your towels and plastic shelves far away unless you want them to melt.
