When we built these 1120mm halogen lamps, the goal was simple: get intense, shortwave infrared energy exactly where it needs to be for industrial drying and curing. At 2000W and 240V, you’ve got a lot of power working across a long, linear stretch. The real win here is the length. Because it’s so long, you can cover wide conveyors or big workpieces in one go. You don’t have to mess around with overlapping a bunch of smaller tubes, which usually just leads to those annoying hot spots that ruin a finish. The nuts and bolts of the power The 240V rating fits right into standard industrial single-phase power, so no headaches there. Inside, we use a tungsten filament wrapped in a halogen gas mix. Here’s the clever part: that gas actually pushes evaporated tungsten back onto the filament. It keeps the wire from thinning out, which means the lamp doesn’t just burn out on you prematurely. Since we’re pushing 2000W over 1120mm, the heat is spread out, but that shortwave radiation still punches through materials fast. It ramps up almost instantly. Just a heads-up: make sure your wiring and contactors can handle the current draw. You don’t want voltage drops at the ends of the tube. Quartz and the heat struggle The outer shell is high-purity quartz. We went with this because it can take the massive thermal expansion of the filament without cracking under pressure. If you’re looking for a drop-in replacement for a standard infrared heater, these usually fit the bill. But be careful. Because these are 1120mm long, they can bow if they aren’t seated perfectly in the reflectors. If the tube sags, your focal point shifts. Suddenly, you’re losing efficiency and wasting energy. Where this actually works You’ll mostly see these in powder coating lines or PET blowing machines. The shortwave output hits the surface immediately. It doesn’t waste time trying to heat up the air around the part; it goes straight for the target. One last thing. This lamp puts out a massive amount of radiant energy, so your housing needs to breathe. If you trap all that heat around the quartz, you’re going to kill the lamp’s lifespan. Every few months, just take a second to check your reflector alignment. It keeps the heat pointed at your product and keeps everything running smooth.
